英会話のジオスが破綻　語学学校の経営難、浮き彫りに
 
　英会話学校大手のジオス（東京・品川）は東京地裁に破産手続き開始を申し立て、保全管理命令を受けたと21日発表した。負債総額は約75億円。ジオスの英会話事業は2007年に破綻したＮＯＶＡの事業を継承したジー・コミュニケーション（名古屋市）が引き継ぐ。景気低迷や業界イメージの低下に伴う語学学校の苦しい経営の実態が改めて浮き彫りになった。
 
　ジオスの顧問弁護士は同日、都内で記者会見し、「銀行団に融資の返済期限を延ばしてもらっていたが、生徒らへの影響が広がらないうちに破産手続きをすることにした」と語った。
 
　ジオスは1973年の創業で、08年12月期の売上高は110億円。08年ごろから生徒の募集で苦戦、広告宣伝費の削減で生徒獲得がさらに難しくなり資金繰りが悪化した。再建策を巡り経営陣の考えがまとまらず、取締役会を経ずに、須原一美取締役と執行役員３人が破産手続きを申し立てる異例の展開となった。
 
　同社は国内に329カ所（生徒は約３万6800人）の教室を抱え、この７割にあたる230カ所をジー・コミュニケーションが引き継ぐ。閉鎖する99教室に通う生徒は、授業料の一部を支払えば近隣のＮＯＶＡなどジー・コミュニケーションの運営施設などで授業を受けられるようにする。未消化の授業料の返還には原則応じない。ジー・コミュニケーションが引き継ぐ教室は23日から授業を再開する。 　語学教室は数十回分の授業料を先払いする料金体系が多い。運営企業が破綻した場合に前払いした未受講分が返還されず、ＮＯＶＡの破綻の際にも問題となった。
 
　矢野経済研究所によると、09年の成人向け外国語教室市場は08年比５％減の1900億円。経済産業省の調べでは09年の語学学校の事業所の数は08年比で横ばいだが、新規入学生数は同35.7％減少した。
 
　業界他社も苦戦が鮮明だ。ベネッセホールディングスは10年３月期に売上高と経常利益が７期ぶりに減少したもようで、主因は語学教室運営の子会社ベルリッツ・インターナショナルの不振だ。経費節減のため企業は語学研修費の削減を進めている。業界には「ジオス破綻で語学学校への信頼がさらに低下するのでは」との懸念も強い。

私、GEOSに通ってるんですけど・・・
昨日もレッスン行ってきました。ここ数年教室の雰囲気が暗い感じで、決して勢いのある感じではありませんでしたが、潰れちまったか～。
マネージャーの態度は結構不満のある人が多いんだけど、先生の質は高いんですけどね。

I couldn't come to the lesson tonight

It was not busy today, so I have thought I could come to the lesson tonight. But my boss told me to wait until we \knew  the result of the meeting which the other section had.

I had to wait until 8 p.m., so I was absent my English lesson tonight. Recently, it is difficult to go to the lesson. I have to study English in my home.

decreasing English skills

It is difficult to go to the lesson resently because of my new job.

I haven't been to the lesson for two weeks. I didn't have time to study English.

So I think my English skills are certainly decreasing day by day. I was difficult to understand what she meant and talk what I wanted to say in the lesson tonight.

Now I have to study for promotion test but try to make the time to study English.

Cleft Sentences

I recently didn't write down my English lesson. I need to write down it to bring up my English skill.

I reported the result of the macth which NW Kitakyushu faced MIO Biwako Kusatu last Sunday as usual at first.
And I and my girlfriend went to Tokyo last weekends.

I studied "Cleft Sentences" tonight.

ex) What I love about skiing is I can feel the elements.

I tried to say some example of  "Cleft Sentences" which I created. But it wasn't good. I could say "Cleft Sentences" but my intonation was not good. I need to become saying  English with proper stress.

I had a stress tonight too.

Today's Topic ： Movie

I don't have taken the lesson for two weeks.
I reported the result of New Wave Kitakyushu at first. We won the match 29th of April and 10th of May.
But the match of 10th of May was bad because they couldn't get point in the second at all although they could get 4 points in the first half.
Some supporters  were angry. I agree them. Actually, I know team condition is bad now but I think they could get more points in the scond half.
They will play with Gainare Tottori next Sunday. I wish they will do thier best.

And I reported my schedule of our marrage.
