Topic：Accent / Dialect

My teacher went to Kokurakitaku branch to renew her alien card.  She was angried to the city hall worker. The city hall worked didn't undwestand English at all. So she spent a lot of time to renew it. 
She could renew her alien card and went back to her apartment. She found the mistake of the card. The card showed that her nationality was "Scotrand" ! 
She had to go to Kokurakitaku branch again.
She asked me angrily why Kitakyushu city hall didn't stationed the worker who could understand English.

I began to learn "Accent and dialect" in my lesson. At first, I listend the conversation of New Zealander.
That was awful. It was really difficult to undersant thier conversation. But my teacher told me that it was difficult for natives to understand New Zealander's conversation too.

I always think English is difficult....

Topic : Imigration

It is very cold tonight.

I told my teacher that the terrible temporary worker expired on last Friday, at first. But she was absent on Last Friday. After all, she was absolutley deplorable.

I was speaking about "Imigration" tonight.
Basically I am aginst Imigration.  I think we had better live in our own country forever. 
Now, someone says we should accept an immigrant because our birth ratio is decreasing year and year. I can't agree with this opinion. The person who insisted an immigrant must have thought An immigrant is a cheap labor unfortunatly in Japan.
I think we should pay the same salary of Japanese as far as an immigrant have the same skill of Japanese if we accept an immigrant.

I listen to CD which some canadian was speaking. It was difficult to listen to it.

I have to brush up my listening skill !

Stereotype

I talked to my teacher about the temporary worker. So, I could get rid of stress a little tonight.

She pointed out I misunderstood the meaning of  "Go bananas" in my homework. I explained to her why I misunderstood it.
Because the text book says "Go bananas" means "very happy". So, I thought "Go bananas" had a positive meaning. But I found out my dictionary says "very angry" and "very happy".

Angry and Happy are exactly the opposite. English is strange...

I studied "Stereotype" in the lesson tonight.
It was interesting that "Otaku" is "The Geek" in UK and "The Nerd" in USA in English.

I rememberd two phrases which were "come across as" and "have a reputation for".
I could expressed about Stereotype with useing these phrases.

Todays topic：used to / would

Introduction
I played the tennis games among our tennis club members, and then we had the year end party after that last Saturday.
One people was absent suddenly. So, it was in trouble. I recorganized the team and game style.

There was the murder case in Sasebo last Thursday. Two people were killed by the murder. The murder had 3 guns and 2700 bullets in his house.

Lesson
I studied how to ues "used to" and "would". We usually ues "uesd to"  when we say about past event. Actually, we usually ued to "would" about past  but we ues "would" when we talk about habit.

And I listened CD and checked key words.

It was the last lesson todays in this year because  my teacher took a long holidays  from Tuseday

Today's topic：Gossip

Introduction
I told to the teacher that my friend who got to know each other in Hokkaido came to Kitakyushu last Saturday. We went to Moji port which is famous sightseeing spot in Kitakyushu city.

Lesson
At first, I studied the difference of these three word which are "Obviously","Apparently","Not surprisingly".
And I listened to CD which is about "Gossip". It was difficult for me because there were a lot of words which I didn't know. So I listened to CD again. I answered some questions. 
I was really frustrated myself because I couldn't understand every sentences.
The teacher told me that I could cacth the point.
The teacher always told me that I was negative when she looked at my attitude. It wasn't. I always understand English like Japanese. My target is really high.
